At YULA Girls High School, the Lady Panthers strive to model themselves as strong athletes while also remaining modest. The goals in the athletic program are for each girl to work hard, excel in the skills they are taught, and to do their best. Attitude on and off the court or field is key and is practiced daily. Each student is taught the aspect of good sportsmanship, proper character, and courage while attaining their team goals. We want the students to enjoy their individual skills while also learning to play together as a team.
While CIF regulations for a student participating in a sport require a 2.5 GPA, the average Lady Panther maintains a 3.25 GPA. Academics and athletics go hand in hand, and I am proud that these girls can excel in both.
YULA Girls Athletics program currently offers twelve team sports and will continue to seek other athletic programs for the future. Be on the lookout for Hockey, Lacrosse, and YOGA!
YULA is still in contract with the West Side Jewish Community Center to utilize their gym and other parts of the facility, including parking, for all home games and practices for Panther basketball and volleyball. We are the JCC's anchor tenant and are excited about the opportunity to broaden the range of facilities for our students.
